Sony Walkman SRF-M37V

The main motivation for me purchasing this portable radio was it's TV tuner. I'm a TV-addict and being away from the TV set isn't as bad, now that I can listen to it on the go.

This unit is roughly 3.25" x 2.5" x 1" in dimension. It's light and uses only a single AAA battery. I personally use rechargeable batteries and I'm constantly surprised how long this radio lasts with a single AAA battery. I don't know the exact duration but my guess is between 10 to 20 hours.

This is a no-frills portable radio. It's a digital tuner capable of AM/FM/TV/Weather bands. The frequency is displayed on a tiny LCD. There are 5 customizable preset buttons. The buttons have different programming settings depending on what band is in use. Lastly, it has a removable belt clip for those on the move.

The audio quality is good. There is plenty of volume. There are no audio enhancing settings and for good reason. If Sony engineers included that feature it would have shorten the battery life of this radio.

One thing I do miss is an auto scanning feature. It's kind of tedious to do it manually. The unit retains its memory for a few minutes when changing battery so you don't automatically lose your presets if you're quick enough to change battery when it's running low.
